Located in Eemshaven in the Netherlands this 14 month project, valued in excess of €1.1M or a €1.5bn Capex, was contracted on time from conception to final approval and completed on budget. We provided qualified coded engineers from the UK to the Netherlands for installation of equipment provided by others. This included personnel for on sale expertise in installation, pre-commissioning and final acceptance testing.
The power plant has a production capacity of 1,311 megawatts, enough to provide electricity to two million households a day. The modern and efficient power plant comprises three CCGTs (combined cycle gas turbines). Every CCGT unit is composed of a gas turbine, a steam turbine and a generator. This technology ensures a very favourable output (about 58%).
Nuon Magnum is located in the Eemshaven, in the province of Groningen. The Eemshaven is a very suitable location, with its modern seaport, availability of space and infrastructure. There is sufficient cooling water capacity and a good connection to the existing high-voltage grid.
